Internet star and Australia’s sweetheart Pesto has had quite the visits following his quick rise to fame. This time around, the floofy King Penguin was graced with the presence of pop icon Olivia Rodrigo — or should we say she was graced with the presence of Pesto?
For folks who aren’t chronically online, Pesto is the record-breaking 21kg King Penguin baby who put Melbourne’s SEA LIFE on the map for his cuteness.
Ever since the aquarium began posting him on TikTok, the beloved King Penguin has amassed a cult following and clocked millions of views online.
With his stardom, Pesto has kinda become the new Australian must-see attraction. Not just for tourists, but for celebrities as well.
Recently, GUTS artist Olivia Rodrigo visited the big fluffy boi during her tour Down Under. In a series of Instagram Stories, the “get him back” singer can be seen observing hanging out with Pesto and taking the cutest photos with the fluff ball!
In a sweet TikTok, Olivia and Pesto recreated a “mama a girl behind YOU” meme which has surged in popularity on the social media platform. Unfortunately, it appears the King Penguin is being a diva by completely giving Olivia the cold shoulder as she tries to wave at him.
This isn’t the first time a ‘yuge celebrity stopped by to say hello to Mr Pesto. A couple of weeks ago, “Woman’s World” singer Katy Perry also stopped by to see the King Penguin in action during her time Down Under.
“I’M PESTO’S 🧡, HE’S @SEA LIFE Melbourne’s 🇦🇺,” the Teenage Dream artist wrote in the caption of the TikTok alongside the sweet bébé.
Honestly, with the number of celebrities that coming Down Under in the next couple of months — such as Ariana Grande for Wicked and Paul Mescal for Gladiator II — I would not be surprised if they all made a stop to greet the one and only Pesto.
It’s what he deserves!
