Sporting CP star Pedro Porro has remained coy on his immediate future with January interest from Chelsea, but particularly Tottenham, prominent. football.london understands that Spurs head coach Antonio Conte has two priorities this month; to sign a new attacking player and a right wing-back, and Porro is seen as the ideal option for the latter.
Spurs sent an opening bid for the 23-year-old earlier this week with a player plus cash deal which was, as expected, immediately rejected by Sporting who refuse to allow Porro to leave unless his €45million (£39 million) release clause is met.
Porro also emerged on the radar of Chelsea as a possible Reece James alternative as he continues his rehabilitation after suffering a setback on his return to action from a long-term knee injury.

Among strong interest from Spurs, Porro has continued featuring and impressing for Sporting. On Friday evening the Portuguese outfit beat Vizela with a stoppage time penalty which was scored by the wing-back. Upon the ball hitting the back of the net, Porro began running off to celebrate but instead stopped in his tracks and tapped the Sporting badge on multiple occasions.
After the game, Porro gave an update on his future offering the expected response when asked about a transfer away from his current club. Speaking to SportTV, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano, he said: "I'm not talking about the possibilities on the market — about staying nor about leaving. I’m focused on Sporting and I'm happy here."
Despite his actions and words indicating his desire to remain in Portugal, there is an understanding that Porro is interested in joining Spurs and perhaps the latter part of his statement showcases this. Specifically stating that he will not talk about his thoughts on staying could offer Spurs fans some hope that he wants to join their club.
