Actor Pedro Pascal made headlines at the 2024 SAG Awards when he admitted to being 'drunk' while accepting his award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for his role in 'The Last of Us.' Pascal, 48, took the stage and candidly mentioned his inebriation, stating, 'This is wrong, for a number of reasons. Umm, I’m a little drunk. I thought I could get drunk.' Despite his tipsy state, Pascal managed to express gratitude towards the show’s streaming network, HBO, calling the award an 'incredible f–king honor.'
During his speech, Pascal struggled to maintain composure, at one point acknowledging his inability to recall the names of his fellow nominees. He also became emotional when thanking his family, pausing as his voice cracked. Pascal eventually concluded his speech by humorously stating, 'I’m going to have a panic attack, and I’m going to leave,' before exiting the stage to applause.
Dressed in his signature style of a white flowy button-down, black slacks, and black shoes, Pascal later engaged in a conversation with fashion designer Tan France backstage. When asked about his speech, Pascal admitted, 'I don’t remember what I said. I just was very surprised, so let’s YouTube it later.'
Earlier in the year, Pascal had made waves with his humor at the 2024 Emmys, jokingly blaming Kieran Culkin for a shoulder injury. Pascal quipped, 'And I think tonight is the perfect time to tell everyone that Kieran Culkin beat the s–t out of me.' When asked if his playful feud with Culkin would continue post-SAGs, Pascal humorously responded that he planned to 'make out' with the 'Succession' actor.
