A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital with chest injuries after a collision with two cars in County Durham.
The A691 Consett Road is closed in both directions on Saturday morning while emergency services respond to the incident - with two ambulances, a doctor, and one specialist medical unit on scene.
Photographs show a police car blocking off the road north of Lanchester between Stockerley Lane and Maiden Law.

“We dispatched two paramedic ambulances, a doctor, specialist rapid response paramedic and a clinical team leader to the scene. One patient was treated for chest injuries before being taken to hospital in Newcastle.”
Meanwhile, Durham Constabulary confirmed there will be disruption to journeys in the area for much of the day.
“The A691 is closed in both directions in the Lanchester area at St Bede's Comprehensive,” said a spokesman for the force.
“Diversions are in place as the road will be closed for a significant period of time. Updates will be provided when we are in a position to reopen."
