A man is being treated in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow, in what police say they are treating as an attempted murder.
Officers were called to reports of a vehicle crashing into a pedestrian, parked cars and railings, before catching fire on Langlands Road in Govan at around 3.15pm on Christmas Eve.
The 20-year-old victim was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
One eyewitness said the car was already being consumed by flames when the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene.
Police said the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene and officers and now trying to trace them, and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Mark Garner of Greater Glasgow CID said: “It’s vital we find out exactly what happened and I would urge anyone who was in the area at the time and saw the incident to come forward.
"Also, if anyone has relevant dash cam footage of Langlands Road around 3pm on Saturday, please contact us.”
