Donald Trump departed for the Davos Economic Forum ready to throw down with the big dogs. This was his chance to flex America’s muscles, show both allies and enemies that he’s not to be pushed around, and make everyone aware that he’s their “Daddy”.
Just a few days on and he’s scurrying back across the Atlantic with his tail between his legs. Europe called Trump’s bluff on conquering Greenland, his ‘Board of Peace’ was an embarrassing failure, and his keynote speech an embarrassing and barely comprehensible word salad.
It wasn’t supposed to be this way! And so, speaking about Air Force One, a visibly tired and low-energy Trump burbled yet more nonsense to reporters, this time apparently not even bothering to make sense:

“It’s nothing compared to the value of… peace. Peace is so destructive for everyone. Even countries that are involved. I mean it’s so destructive for everybody, when you have wars.”
Yet more meaningless, waffling nonsense from the President of the United States. But look, Trump is rapidly approaching his 80th birthday, he’s jet-lagged, eats terribly, is visibly unwell, and is under an enormous amount of pressure. It’s not surprising that his brain is collapsing like a poorly made soufflé.
25th amendment when?
But, if you’re looking for someone to do one of the most important, high-stakes jobs in the world with billions of people’s lives at stake, maybe you want someone with a little more stamina who can handle a gruelling regime of meetings, public appearances, and questions without becoming doddery and confused.
America just endured the humiliation of Joe Biden clearly not being fit for office, and now the nation is set for another three years of senile ramblings that even his closest allies can’t decipher? It’s a matter of if, not when, the 25th Amendment is invoked and Trump is removed from office through “inability to discharge the presidency’s powers and duties”.
Make no mistake, JD Vance will already be making quiet moves behind the scenes to test the waters on if and when this could happen. Fortunately, we can be equally certain that Trump won’t be forced out of office quietly and, even in a senile state, he’s more than able to burn the White House down around him on the way out. Possibly literally!
