Rockstar Games has once again come under attack from hackers who now claim that they've breached the company's security. ShinyHunters, as the group is named, is supposedly holding Rockstar's information for ransom and intends to leak it to the public if it is not paid.
As per Cyber Security Guru, Rockstar Games was hacked after ShinyHunters exploited a vulnerability in Anodot, an AI analytics tool used by various companies, including Rockstar, to maximize cloud hosting efficiency by tracking real-time costs and spending. According to that site, Anodot operates deep within a company's security system, which seems to have allowed ShinyHunters to pierce into Rockstar Games' Snowflake data warehouse.
