PATNA: Travelling in autorickshaws in the city is set to become costlier from Monday with the auto unions deciding to hike fares by up to 30% on different routes citing rise in prices of compressed natural gas (CNG). Fares of reserved autorickshaws will also increase by 15 to 20%.
The auto unions, who function under the banner of All India Road Transport Workers’ Federation-Bihar, took the decision following continuous rise in CNG prices in the last four months. The CNG, which was available at Rs 69.96 per kg not so long ago, is now being sold at Rs 84.46 per kg in the city.
