Paulo Dybala is a name causing plenty of excitement across Europe with the Argentinian poised to leave Juventus on a free transfer this summer, sparking interest from the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle.
Dybala appeared all set to join Spurs around three years ago now only for a deadline day move to fall through late on. But it appears the 28-year-old is ready to move on for good now and despite suffering an injury-hit campaign, he's been in decent form this season, finding the net eight times in 23 appearances in the Serie A for the Old Lady.
Picking up an experienced forward for free is always going to prove tempting to a large number of clubs, so it is no surprise Dybala's decision to leave at the end of the season has caught the eye of the Premier League's richest sides. Newcastle talks
Newcastle United have now held talks to sign Dybala in the summer, according to a report from Corriere dello Sport, via the Transfer Tavern. the North East club is one of a number of teams who Dybala’s representative has now talked to, as they went on an ‘extensive tour’ of both England and Spain to see what teams had to say.
Arsenal and Newcastle interest
Dybala becoming available on a free transfer was always likely to attract plenty of interest so it is no surprise to see both the Gunners and Newcastle throw their hats into the ring.
Calcio Mercato reported on Thursday that Mikel Arteta was looking at the possibility of signing the striker as he looks to bolster his attacking options, while The Express reported that Newcastle were ready to blow the competition out of the water with a big-money offer.
Blues plan post-takeover approach
According to 90min, Chelsea intend to join the pursuit of soon-to-be free agent Paulo Dybala. The report states that they plan to firm up their interest once a takeover of the club has been completed.
Six clubs register interest
As per Giacomo Lacobellis on Twitter, as many as six clubs are interested in signing Paulo Dybala as a free agent this summer, including Spurs.
The Italian journalist wrote: "The two most interested teams today are Inter and Atletico Madrid, although the player's entourage also talked to FC Barcelona, Arsenal, PSG and Tottenham. On July 1, he will leave Juventus as a free agent after seven seasons."
Dybala set for Juventus free transfer
With his contract at the Juventus Stadium continuing to tick down, there was hope that the Serie A giants would be able to negotiate an extended stay for Dybala in Turin. However, that does not now appear to be the case.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Palermo man will not sign a new contract at the conditions that Juve have set and is now set to begin talks with interested parties regarding a free transfer. He will leave the club after a hugely successful seven-year spell with his current employers since a 2015 move.
Chelsea eye switch
Among the interested clubs, Chelsea are one of those who have been mooted to be making a move for the Argentinian international. According to 90min, a number of prominent Premier League clubs have been offered the chance to recruit him ahead of next season.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are also reported to be interested in him so it remains to be seen where the 28-year-old will turn up now that the decision to leave Juventus has been made.
Tottenham lodge serious offer
It has previously been reported that Tottenham Hotspur would only pursue a move for Dybala should he elect to leave Juventus on a free transfer. Spurs decided to make a move for the forward a few seasons ago but issues with image rights scuppered the switch.
According to Sport, the north London club have launched the most serious offer for the player amid interest from Spanish outfit Barcelona.
