Paulo Dybala's Roman Abramovich talks revealed as Chelsea target nears Inter Milan transfer

Paulo Dybala is closing in on a move to Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window, football.london understands. The 28-year-old's contract at Juventus expires at the end of next month and he is set to join Inter on a free transfer.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with Dybala, rather predictably, with someone of his talent becoming available on a free transfer. It turned out the Blues were interested in his services before the sanctions were imposed on Roman Abramovich.

football.london understands that Dybala was indeed on the club's radar and the Argentina international was spoken about between senior officials. However, there has been so sign of recent interest from the Blues with the takeover of the club evidently at the forefront of everyone's mind.

When a player of Dybala's talent and pedigree becomes available, it's unlikely there won't be a lot of clubs interested in snapping him up on a free transfer. Tottenham were previously close to agreeing a deal in the 2019 summer transfer window, but football.london understands they are not in the race this time around. It's understood that the Argentine is now very close to completing a move to Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, back at Chelsea, and there is set to be a major revamp of the squad in the summer transfer window should Todd Boehly's consortium complete the takeover of the club. The Blues have a few attackers, including Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who have all been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks.

If even one of these attacking players are allowed to leave the club, then the logical thing would be to go out and find a replacement. Plenty of players have been linked, but it's unlikely anything will be properly looked at until Boehly's place at the club is confirmed.

Chelsea know they have to strengthen their squad in order to reduce the gap to the Premier League's top two - Liverpool and Manchester City. Tuchel knows that could be "impossible" to do in just one transfer window, however.

"It's maybe impossible, I have to say, maybe impossible," the Chelsea head coach said recently. "They are improving their squad in every transfer window they have.

"It seems like we are losing key players. We are losing, of course, Toni [Rudiger] and we're losing Andreas [Christensen]. So, this is tough and we already have a gap to close."

For Chelsea to begin to try and close the gap present at the moment, attacking options need to be looked at in the summer, as well as other areas of the squad. football.london understands Christopher Nkunku has been scouted by Chelsea for some time and making a move for the RB Leipzig is not beyond the realms of possibility this summer. The Frenchman, though, is likely to have caught the eye of many clubs after being crowned the Bundesliga Player of the Season recently.
