Paul Pogba's agent has revealed that she argues regularly with the Juventus midfielder, with his return to Italy so far having failed to live up to expectations.
The Frenchman has played just 108 minutes in Serie A this season, with injury keeping him side-lined for much of the season. His injury struggles have coincided with a tough campaign for the Old Lady, with Massimiliano Allegri's side sitting seventh in Serie A following a 10-point deduction for financial irregularities relating to their transfer activity.
Pogba joined on a free transfer last summer following the expiry of his Manchester United contract, but has been hit by a succession of injuries and missed the World Cup in Qatar. He left the pitch in tears following a fresh injury on his first start of the season earlier this month.
He has also clashed with Allegri at times, with indiscipline leading to rumours of a potential early exit this summer. His agent, Rafaela Pimenta has revealed details of her client's mindset amid continued discussions regarding his future.
Pimenta took over from Mino Raiola following the super-agent's death last year and detailed Pogba's mindset during an interview with Calciomercato [via Cult of Calcio ].
She said: “We have a very profound relationship. We often argue but then make up immediately. It happens all the time. We can tell the truth to each other, and that’s very important. People tend to always side with footballers, so they get mad when somebody says ‘no’ to them. Our agency does that, even though we risk losing clients.
“Pogba has an incredible ability of overcoming difficulties in brilliant fashion. His mental fortitude is remarkable. Each time he gets back up and forges ahead. He needs some time to recover. However, he doesn’t dwell on what happened and focuses on the future.”
Pimenta, who started her career as a lawyer before becoming the successor to Raiola and acquiring clients such as Erling Haaland and Zlatan Ibrahimović, said Pogba has more to offer at Juventus. She added: “He always tells me that he has a lot more to achieve at Juventus.”
Despite stating her client's wishes to stay at Juve, the comments may be driven by a lack of alternative options with the injury-hit France international having turned 30 in March. Earlier this year, Gazzetta dello Sport raised the possibility of the midfielder agreeing a mutual termination of his contract, a lucrative four-year-deal which expires in 2026.
Pogba would be under no obligation to take such an option and Pimenta's comments suggest he will seek to remain at the club for which he enjoyed a trophy-laden four year spell between 2012 and 2016.
Behind-the-scenes chaos at Bianconeri could reignite previous links to PSG, with the French champions expected to target more French players in the future. However, with Mirror Football's understanding that the Ligue 1 club are expected to move away from signing big name players it could leave a scarcity of options should Pogba's exit from Juve be decided by the club's hierarchy.
