Paul O'Grady has said that Covid has caught up with him and he has tested positive while filming in Malta.
The 67-year-old TV and radio presenter shared a message with fans on Instagram, in which he admitted he is suffering "vicious" symptoms.
Paul said that he is coughing like a "sick donkey" and has been laid out in his hotel room all week instead of filming.
Fortunately, fans of his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday will not be disappointed as Paul said that he has already pre-recorded the show.
This foresight was due to worries over flights being cancelled but instead it is Covid that would have kept him from presenting the show live.
The dog-loving TV host shared a picture of his positive Covid test with his 695,000 followers and captioned the post with a lengthy message to his fans.
Paul wrote: "Well it had to happen in the end despite managing to avoid the dreaded Covid since we first went into lockdown.
"I’m in Malta supposed to be filming with a group of lovely people but all I’ve done for a week is lie in my hotel room with an unbelievably vicious headache and cough that sounds like a sick donkey."
Speaking about his radio show, Paul continued: "Thank heavens we took the precaution of pre recording my Radio 2 show this Sunday incase I couldn’t get back due to flight cancellations etc."
Fortunately Paul is looking like he is over the worst of it but is not out of the woods with Covid just yet.
He added: "I’m feeling a lot better than I did but still feeling rough and permanently knackered. #covid_19 "
Among the well wishers was former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley, who commented: "Loads of Liposomal Vit C and shed loads of garlic! Get well soon darling xxxx"
