Today the country mourns as Paul O'Grady is laid to rest.
The beloved TV star, drag queen and treasured son of Merseyside was revered throughout the country, and touched the lives of millions as he appeared on their screens for years, first finding fame as Lily Savage, a ground-breaking drag queen in the 80s and 90s, and then later as the host of shows like Blankety Blank and For the Love of Dogs.
Paul will be buried at a private ceremony in Kent. People have been invited to line the streets in mourning to see the procession through Aldington, close to where he lived for 20 years.

A private memorial is planned for Port Lympne Safari Park where he was a regular visitor. Closer to home a petition calling for a statue to be erected of Paul in Birkenhead is gaining traction, and has won the support of almost 150,000 people.
Since his death at aged 67 at the end of March, thousands have paid their respects to the late great star, who "will be truly missed." Paul "went places nobody had gone before," and his passing caused an outpouring of tributes and condolences after it was announced by his husband Andre Portasio.
The ECHO is offering people the opportunity to pay their own tribute to Paul, who was described as "laughing, smiling and full of life" and surrounded by his dogs by friend Malcolm Prince who saw him hours before his death.
