Paul Mescal's mum said she will "cherish" the memories of attending the Oscars with her beloved son.
A beaming Dearbhla stood alongside her famous actor son as his plus-on on the champagne carpet on Sunday night. The mum-of-three told her followers on Instagram: “It has been a memory I will cherish for so so long. I am so grateful.”
Dearbhla is battling a type of bone marrow cancer and her daughter Nell had previously told of how she got the news about Paul's nomination on the day she was prepping for her treatment, the Irish Mirror reports.

Leading up to the big night Paul himself said: "It's a dream to bring your mum to the Oscars!"
Dearbhla, who works for An Garda Siochana, told Variety Magazine in Los Angeles: "This is just an incredible moment and it's real. It's actually not fantasy, it is real."
When asked what her reaction was when Paul first said he wanted to become an actor, the all-smiling Dearbhla, who first discovered she was sick last July, said she simply "trusted him."
"He knew what he wanted to do and we said let's go with it," she added.
