Paul Mescal's father is following in his son's footsteps with an upcoming acting gig.
The schoolteacher will take to the stage in July in 'Are You Dancin'- A Showband Story'. The nostalgic musical delves into Ireland's showband culture in the 1960s and will run in Tallaght's Civic Theatre.
Paul Mescal Snr is a schoolteacher who has dabbled in acting on the side. He is reportedly set to retire from his day job next year, giving him more scope for future acting gigs.
The dad of the Oscar-nominated actor previously admitted he felt "shy" around big stars while attending his son's award ceremonies. Paul received a nomination for Best Actor at the UK awards ceremony for his role in 'Aftersun'.
