Paul Merson has admitted he would rather have Tottenham star Harry Kane over Manchester City target Erling Haaland.

The Blues look set to land the Norwegian talisman, beating Real Madrid to his signature, as multiple reports suggest the Borussia Dortmund forward is on his way to the Premier League. The Manchester Evening News understands City are closing in on the 21-year-old but the club have refused to comment on the deal.

Kane was among the top targets to replace Sergio Aguero at City last summer. Ahead of the upcoming transfer window, it appears Haaland could be the marquee signing this summer, but Merson isn't convinced.
