Paul Merson was impressed with what he saw from Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk during Saturday’s 3-1 win at Leicester City. The Ukraine international was restored to the starting line-up having been an unused substitute for both of the Blues’ previous wins against Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund.
Mudryk led the line alongside Joao Felix and Kai Havertz at the King Power Stadium, with the trio looking a real threat for much of the contest. The 22-year-old provided an assist for Mateo Kovacic’s goal, his first goal contribution for the club, while he also had a goal ruled out for offside himself.
The Sky Sports pundit was particularly pleased with what he saw from Mudryk, who has so far struggled for opportunities to impress at Stamford Bridge since his £88 million transfer in January. “I thought Mudryk did alright. He looked dangerous,” Merson said after the game.
