Paul Merson thinks Arsenal have to buy 'experienced' players in the next window if they wish to compete in the future.
The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League in the 21/22 campaign as they narrowly missed out on Champions League football to north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Although finishing fifth with such a young squad is a decent achievement, Mikel Arteta would've been disappointed by the Gunners' end to the season, as they lost crucial games to Spurs and Newcastle in the run-in for top four.
Edu and co will look to add talent to the roster in the coming months, as they aim to solve Arteta's squad depth problem once and for all. However, Merson thinks that the players they bring in need to have experience at the top level to add something extra to an otherwise inexperienced side.
