Arsenal hero Paul Merson has backed his old side to clinch all three points during today's Premier League clash against Everton.
The Gunners currently sit on top of the table, five points clear of second-placed Manchester City despite having played one less league match than Pep Guardiola and co. Next up for Mikel Arteta's side is a trip to Goodison Park, where they will take on the Toffees in what will be Sean Dyche's first match in charge of the Merseyside-based club.
Now, Merson has backed Arsenal to heap further misery on Everton whilst also claiming that new signing Jorginho was a solid pickup from technical director Edu. In his Sportskeeda predictions, Merson said: “I think this is a different game now – it isn’t a foregone conclusion anymore.

"Arsenal have made some great signings. Leandro Trossard is a very good squad player who can come on and won’t weaken the team at all. Jorginho is a winner with bundles of experience.
"Two years ago, people were wondering when England was going to produce a player like that. He has slowed down, but he will help this team. He knows he won’t play every week, and that helps as well.
“Everton are in trouble, and I don’t see how Sean Dyche can turn them around. He can make them hard to beat, but they need to start winning matches. I’ve never seen a club in a relegation battle weakening its team in the transfer market – it’s shocking! I can’t believe what they’ve done.
“Arsenal need to turn up in the right frame of mind for this Premier League game. As long as their attitude is right, there’s only one winner in this match.”
Paul Merson's Prediction: Everton 0-3 Arsenal
Similarly, former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has backed the north Londoners to come out on top comfortably. Writing for the BBC, Sutton said: "Arsenal rested a few players in their FA Cup tie against Manchester City and paid the price.
"They still played pretty well at Etihad Stadium though and I think they have had a really good window - signing Jorginho, Cedric Trossard and Jakub Kiwior to strengthen their squad for their title push. Everton, in contrast, did not sign anyone and it looks like their new manager Sean Dyche has got a huge job on his hands to keep them up - he's actually lost a player, with Anthony Gordon moving to Newcastle.
"We know the Goodison Park crowd will get behind the team and, the way that Dyche manages, he will be trying to extract every last ounce of effort out of his players. So, the endeavour will be there, but I still don't see Everton getting a win or even managing a draw.
"Arsenal are just far too good for them and, as I said on the Monday Night Club, getting the Everton job now is like being made captain of the Titanic, a couple of hours after it hit the iceberg."
