Paul McGinley believes PGA loyalists will feel the losers out of the controversial LIV merger

Paul McGinley believes PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monaghan faces a "real problem" convincing PGA loyalists they aren't the losers in the merger with the LIV series.

There was a sense of shock and betrayal from players when the move was announced earlier this week. The deal sees the merging of the PGA Tour and DP World Tour’s commercial operations with those of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which funds LIV Golf.

One of the most vocal critics of the LIV series, Rory McIlroy, says he felt like a "sacrificial lamb" and says LIV Golf is something he "still hates". His close friendship with Sergio Garcia was effectively ended when the Spaniard announced he was switching sides.
