Paul Chuckle was left confused when a Twitter user
(Picture: PA)Paul Chuckle was left perplexed after a fan mistakenly thought he had died after mixing him up with his late older brother Barry on social media.
The 75-year-old - real name Paul Elliott - was formerly one half of double-act the Chuckle Brothers, until Barry passed away in 2018 from cancer.
The Chuckle Brothers became a children’s TV favourite from 1987 until their show Chucklevision stopped airing in 2009. The pair briefly returned to entertaining with a 2010 stage tour titled An Audience with the Chuckle Brothers.
Their comedy show involved slapstick sketches and visual gags combined with their well-known catchphrases of “To me, to you!” and “Oh dear, oh dear!”
In 2014 they made the surprise move to collaborate with rapper Tynchy Stryder on charity single To Me, To You (Bruv).

The confusion came about after a fan responded to a Twitter question asking “What celebrity death was the most unexpected?” and mentioned Paul Chuckle.
Rotherham-born Paul retweeted the response along with two question marks, signalling his confusion.
There were scratched heads all-round from his followers.
“I’m sure Paul Chuckle was very surprised to hear he’s dead,” wrote one.
“He’s already replied saying “that’s news to me... to you,” joked another.
Others simply tried to correct the Twitter user, saying: “It’s Barry that died, not Paul.”
