Pop legend Paul Cattermole and bandmate Hannah Spearritt once had a turbulent on-and-off relationship.
Despite their rocky relationship, the pair become incredibly close friends and in the wake of his death, on Friday, April 7, Hannah reportedly 'broke down' after hearing the devastating news.
The singer was found dead at his home in Dorset aged 46 and there are thought to be "no suspicious circumstances" around his death.
His death is believed to have come as a 'massive shock' and the mum-of-two is said to 'absolutely devastated' - particularly as she had just rekindled her friendship with her former partner reports the Irish Mirror.
A source close to her said: "Hannah is inconsolable. This came as a massive shock, and she is struggling to believe he is no longer with us."
"Just as they rekindled their friendship, the worst happened. The band are all in pieces." reports the Irish Mirror.
The pair first started their relationship in 2001 and continued their relationship for five years before calling it quits.
At first, the couple kept their romance a secret, with Paul later revealing he would sneak to and from Hannah's house in the early hours of the morning.
Back in 2015, Paul and Hannah rekindled their romance when the band got back together for a tour. But it didn't last for long and Hannah got back with personal trainer Adam Thomas.
And in 2017, the pair were embroiled in a Twitter spat after Hannah slammed her ex Paul Cattermole in a furious rant.
Hannah pulled no punches, branding Paul 'broke and desperate', after he accused her of ditching him for fame.
Referring to Paul she wrote: 'Cringe. Someone's broke again…. Hilarious! #tragic'.
Her angry tweet came just days after Paul opened up about the demise of their relationship in 2006 - blaming it on her bid for Hollywood fame, which left him thinking if she was the 'same person'
However, prior to the late stars' death, Paul and Hannah made amends and were back to being close friends ahead of their reunion tour.
A source told The Mail: "Hannah and Paul met in January to resolve their issues following years of disputes. They have sorted out their differences and are even on good terms now for the first time since they can remember.
"The whole group are doing the reunion tour and it was important for them to move forward so no one felt awkward. Everyone wants this to be a time for all involved to relive the magic and make great memories."
