Paul Carr Estate Agents undergoes management buyout

An estate agency group which operates across the West Midlands has undergone a management buyout. David Alexander, managing director of Paul Carr Estate Agents, has led the deal to acquire the agency which has enabled the founder Paul Carr to step down.

The company was founded in 1980 and has grown into one of the region's largest independent firms. It employs 95 staff across 14 offices in Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Staffordshire and the Black Country.

Mr Alexander, who has worked for the business for ten years, will continue to lead the firm, supported by a new-look board of directors Chris Wragg, Daniel Cohen and Emma Besant.

He said: "I am hugely excited for what the future holds for this business. Having been emotionally invested for such a long time, it was a natural progression to take on this role as Paul Carr himself chooses to step down.

"Part of this process was to look at the growth plans which will lead us into very exciting times ahead."

Accountancy firm BK Plus advised on the deal.

Founder Shaun Knight said: "It's been a pleasure working with David and the team to get this over the line as well as working with them to look at future growth plans and how they are going to achieve these. Working with businesses like Paul Carr Estate Agents and its future plans allows us to help them realise the true potential of what is achievable."
