Pattaya has stepped up policing and prostitution enforcement ahead of the arrival of about 5,000 US sailors and Marines aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln and two accompanying vessels.

According to reports, the carrier group is scheduled to dock at Laem Chabang Port in Chon Buri from 2 to 6 September, with many personnel expected to take shore leave in nearby Pattaya.
