It could be another uphill battle offensively for the New England Patriots with the team ruling offensive tackle Trent Brown out for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders.
Injuries have turned the 2023 season into an endless game of musical chairs for the Patriots’ offensive line. They are severely undermanned at the tackle position to the point where they’ve been trying veteran guard Mike Onwenu out at right tackle.
The constant player rotations up front has led to instability along the offensive front as a whole, which has created a bunch of problems for the run game and quarterback Mac Jones.
Rookie wide receiver Kayshon Boutte being inactive once again is also a big storyline considering coach Bill Belichick was singing his praises earlier in the week. Even with DeVante Parker and Kendrick Bourne both out for the game, Boutte is still struggling to get playing time on the field.
Here’s the full list of inactives for both teams in Week 9:

The Commanders traded away Montez Sweat and Chase Young before the trade deadline, but with Brown inactive, there might still be enough holes on the Patriots’ offensive front for them to wreak havoc on Jones and company.
