The New England Patriots will be missing both rookie wide receivers, Demario Douglas and Kayshon Boutte, when taking the field against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
Things are looking uncomfortably thin at the wideout position with two more receiving targets out of action. The team has already been playing without Kendrick Bourne, and now with Douglas out, they’ll be missing their top-two most reliable receivers for their AFC clash with the Chargers.
Trent Brown and Riley Reiff both still being listed as questionable is concerning as well considering Los Angeles has a fearsome pass rush that will be looking to dominate in the trenches and cause more chaos for the Patriots’ struggling offense.

Not having Douglas and Boutte on the field means the team will have to depend on DeVante Parker, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Tyquan Thornton to step up at wide receiver.
The Patriots are also expected to activate Malik Cunningham, who is believed to be taking reps under center in special quarterback packages. He has spent most of the season working at wide receiver just in case a situation like this arose and he needed to make the transition.
Sunday might finally be that day for Cunningham.
