The New England Patriots will have their two best defensive players for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Cornerback Christian Gonzalez and defensive tackle Christian Barmore are both officially active for the game. That’s good news for the Patriots ahead of a tough battle against Miami’s high-powered offense.
Gonzalez was a late addition to the injury report on Friday due to a hip injury, while Barmore is still working his way back into the mix after missing most of the season recovering from a blood clot diagnosis.
Unfortunately for the Patriots, they won’t have team captain Deatrich Wise Jr. for the game. The veteran defensive end went through pregame warmups, and he still wasn’t well enough to return from the foot injury he suffered in the Week 10 win over the Chicago Bears.

The Patriots will need all of the help they can get on the road against a desperate Dolphins team fighting to make a last-ditch playoff run. We’ll see if it’s enough to steal an upset win at Hard Rock Stadium.
