New England Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith is out and being evaluated for a head injury after getting sandwiched in between two defenders in Saturday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The team announced the veteran tight end is questionable to return. Losing Smith at this point in the game is tough for a Patriots team that’s also missing Hunter Henry (knee).
They recently elevated tight end Scotty Washington from the practice squad as a member of the active roster before the game. That move could be huge for the Patriots with the team currently involved in what feels like a heavyweight fight against the Bengals.
It’s worth noting Smith was able to walk off the field under his own power.
