The New England Patriots announced they have signed undrafted rookie running back Terrell Jennings off the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
With JaMycal Hasty out with an ankle injury, Jennings will have an opportunity to serve as the No. 3 option at running back for the Patriots behind Rhamondre Stevenson and Antonio Gibson.
Jennings signed with the Patriots in the spring as an undrafted free agent. His only appearance for the team this season came in Week 6 against the Houston Texans in a game where he ran five times for 13 yards.
Jennings had a solid career with 44 games at Florida A&M in college rushing for 1,860 yards and 24 touchdowns.
He’ll add much-needed depth to the Patriots’ offensive backfield. This will also be a chance for him to show the team that he’s ready for an extended role more permanently off the practice squad.
