The New England Patriots are in the market for a high-end offensive tackle prospect, and they’re expected to have one of the best players in the 2023 NFL draft in town for a visit on Thursday.
University of Georgia standout offensive tackle Broderick Jones has been a name linked to the Patriots throughout various mock drafts over the last few months. Now, the team will have a chance to meet face-to-face a few weeks before potentially deciding on taking him with the No. 14 overall pick.
Jones, a two-time national champion, has competed against some of the best pass-rushers in the country in the SEC. He’d be a huge lift to a Patriots offensive front expected to lose Isaiah Wynn.

The Patriots signed veteran offensive tackles Riley Reiff and Calvin Anderson in free agency to build depth at the position. Reiff received guaranteed money, and last year’s starter, Trent Brown, is still on the roster.
So the Patriots aren’t in a desperate position to pounce on an offensive tackle early. But if they do, Jones is definitely a name to be keeping an eye on as a future franchise piece for the organization.
