The New England Patriots worked out linebacker Maximilian Roberts on Tuesday, as well as defensive ends Christian McCarroll and Kobe Jones, according to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson.
The team later announced they had signed both McCarroll and Jones.
Roberts recorded 16 total tackles with the UFL’s Memphis Showboat’s last season. Jones has played in the NFL for three teams. He has spent time with the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, and Green Bay Packers.
McCaroll brings quite the collegiate resume to the table. He was named an All-American and conference Defensive Lineman of the Year at Grand Valley State. He finished his college career with 151 tackles and 31.5 tackles for a loss.

The Patriots need depth along the defensive front with Christian Barmore sidelined and Matthew Judon now in Atlanta. Joshua Uche and Oshane Ximines have also been dealing with injuries.
New England moved quickly on Jones and McCarroll. Perhaps Roberts could get another look down the line if injuries continue to be a problem.
