New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has joined some elite company in the running department.
Per the 33rd Team, the Patriots’ rookie signal-caller has the highest yards per carry by any quarterback in a season since 2000. Maye has 9.1 yards per carry so far this season, surpassing the previous record-holder, former Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick, who had 8.5 yards per carry in 2013.
Vick also holds the third spot with 8.4 yards per carry in 2006. Maye currently has 38 carries for 345 yards and a touchdown on the season.

Vick defined a generation of rushing quarterbacks and set the standard for many years during his NFL run. If anything, a stat like this proves Maye is headed in the right direction.
