Douglas was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report with an ankle injury.
Douglas, a sixth-round pick in the 2023 NFL draft by New England, primarily lines up in the slot. He’s been a reliable target, catching 76 percent of his targets at 9.9 yards per catch with a touchdown.
While Douglas’ 477 receiving yards are the most among the New England receivers, the team’s leading pass catcher is tight end Hunter Henry. Third on the team in receiving yards is tight end Austin Hooper.
When it comes to limiting the Patriots’ passing game, the Colts linebackers will play a pivotal role in that regard up against the New England tight ends.
Success for the Colts’ defense will begin with taking advantage of a struggling Patriots offensive line unit in pass protection. Entering Week 13, New England has allowed the fifth-highest pressure rate this season, according to Pro Football Reference.
Getting after rookie quarterback Drake Maye, who has impressed this season, will disrupt the timing and rhythm of the play and potentially lead to off-target throws and mistakes.
Since the return of DeForest Buckner from injured reserve, the Colts’ pass rush unit has been picking up steam.
Indianapolis ranks 25th in yards per pass attempt allowed this season but have been quite good at generating takeaways.
