It hasn't been an easy season for the New England Patriots.
For the second straight season—and the third time in the last four years—New England will not be playing in the postseason, as they sport a 4—12 record heading into their Week 18 contest against the New York Jets, their last of the season.
Either way, the Patriots have their worst record since the 2000 season, a fact that has been difficult for fans to accept—except for one.
A Patriots supporter wore a customized jersey with the name "Sadness" on the back to the game at Gillette Stadium, perfectly summing up the disappointment of the 2023 season.

This Patriots fan is not shying away from the team's losing ways this year, which have ensured them a premier selection in the 2024 draft, as well as put into question the job security of longtime coach Bill Belichick.
Of course, fans of other franchises would likely scoff at the supposed misery of this Patriots fan, who has enjoyed six Super Bowl rings and numerous playoff appearances over the past 20 years.
One thing is clear—Patriots fans are not used to losing. They'll have to hope their team can turn it around in the second half against the Jets, who are leading 6—3 in the third quarter.
