Patrick Vieira said he was pleased to have been recognised by the Premier League after the Crystal Palace boss was nominated for the manager of the season award.
Vieira has captured the hearts of Palace fans during his first season as Palace manager and successfully helped embed a new, possession-based style of play for the Eagles following the departure of Roy Hodgson. Along with his new summer signings, the Frenchman has helped create a buzz around Selhurst Park aided by some impressive results.
Palace beat Tottenham 3-0 in September to pick up their first win of the season before beating Pep Guardiola's Manchester City 2-0 at the Etihad a month later and Arsenal 3-0 at Selhurst Park in April. Vieira also oversaw a run to the FA Cup semi-finals for just the fifth time in the club's history, with Palace beating Millwall, Hartlepool United, Stoke City and Everton before succumbing to London neighbours Chelsea at Wembley.
