The Kansas City Chiefs put together a dominant performance against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday night and seemed to be in rhythm on both sides of the ball when the Week 7 tilt concluded.
While their showing in divisional games has historically been stellar in the Patrick Mahomes era, the reigning MVP managed to make history in this game in one particular area when he threw a touchdown to Travis Kelce early in the matchup.
That TD marked the 50th TD connection between QB Patrick Mahomes and TE Travis Kelce, the most by any QB-pass catcher in franchise history and the 4th most by a QB-TE in NFL history. They need 1 more TD to tie Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham (51) for 4th.

With Mahomes’ second-quarter touchdown connection with Kelce, the pair set the Chiefs’ franchise record for most scores between a quarterback-receiver duo. Kelce’s catch marked his 50th six-point reception with Mahomes under center, and the duo is just one score shy of tying New Orleans Saints legends Drew Brees and Jimmy Graham for fourth place on the NFL’s all-time leaderboard.
Be sure to keep your eye on Kansas City’s terrible twosome as the Chiefs move through their 2023 schedule to see if Mahomes and Kelce can once more combine to mark their place in the history books.
