I don’t know if you stayed up last night for the entire Chiefs-Chargers SNF game but if you did go to bed early then you missed another heck of a show by two guys who have grown used to putting on tremendous shows.
I’m talking, of course, about Chiefs all-world QB Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs all-world tight end Travis Kelce. These two dudes have been quite the combo for many years and last night they wow’d again, teaming up for three touchdowns, including the game winner with just over 30 seconds left in the game.
Mahomes and Kelce have done it again!

When all is said and done, Mahomes and Kelce will be one of those special combos that will go down in football history.
They should be talked about like all the great QB-WR/TE duos.
They should be throwing and catching one more pass together some summer night in Canton, Ohio when they’re being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Because what the’ve done so far, and what they will likely do going forward, has been completely ridiculous. In a great way. Heck, in a legendary way.
Kelce, who had a four TD game earlier this season, now was 11 TDs on the season, which is tops in the league. He also 855 yards on 69 catches, which is pretty nice, too, but especially for a tight end. He has grown used to 1,000-yard seasons and holds the record for most yards in a season by a tight end (1,416), which he could break this year.
He’s awesome. He’s unstoppable. He’s a first ballot Hall of Famer.
Being teamed up with Mahomes just feels unfair. The former Texas Tech star seems primed to win his second NFL MVP award this season. He has 28 TDs, 3,265 yards, and just seven interceptions. Last night he threw one of the coolest passes of his career and continues to make plays that leave NFL fans in awe.
Mahomes and Kelce continue to be a cheat code. It’s always amazing to watch duos like this because you know the opposing defenses spend all week leading up to the game focusing on how to stop them and then spend the days after the game wondering how it all went so amazingly wrong for them.
The Chargers are feeling that today. They had a chance to beat the Chiefs and make a move in the AFC West. Instead, they lost in heartbreaking fashion and could only watch as Kelce spiked the ball in celebration after running into the end zone for a third time.
Mahomes and Kelce are special. These duos don’t come around a lot and when they do you just need to enjoy them. Well, unless your team is facing them because then you’re probably in some trouble.
OK, you’re probably in a lot of trouble.
