Eric Wynalda has slammed Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford in an incredible outburst against a fellow professional, claiming he is not equipped to play in the Premier League and "sucks". Bamford missed Leeds' 6-1 mauling against Liverpool on Monday due to a calf injury, but has struggled for both form and fitness during the past two seasons.
The 29-year-old has notched five goals and four assists in 25 appearances across all competitions for Leeds this season, but has not come close to replicating his 17-goal haul in 2020/21.
Former USA international Wynalda has urged Leeds to play more direct, but does not expect Bamford to serve as an adequate option in attack. “Jesse learned the hard way and Gracia is finding the same problem," Wynalda told The Action Network's Wondergoal Podcast.

“You’ve got to be more direct. The midfielders like Aaronson, McKennie and Adams will have their heads on a swivel. The ball won’t spend much time on the ground. Bamford sucks. He is not a Premier League forward and they’re going to need Harrison to step up.”
The American, who played for German third division side FC Saarbrucken, has not held back in his criticism of Bamford, who before injuries hit made a big impression in the top flight and won international recognition. Leeds are still hopeful the striker can have a role to play in the run in as they fight against relegation and to extend their three-year stay in the top flight.
