Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford has been named as the joint 12 th favourite to win this season’s Premier League golden boot. That is according to odds taken from Bet365, who have priced him at 40/1, the same as Kai Havertz, Kevin de Bruyne, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Alongside Calvert-Lewin and Mitrovic, Bamford is the second lowest priced player from outside the big six, with only Jamie Vardy ranked as more likely to pick up the award. Erling Haaland, Mo Salah, Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Cristiano Ronaldo, Darwin Nunez, Gabriel Jesus, Diogo Jota, Julian Alvarez and Luis Diaz are the other players with odds lower than Bamford.
Bamford’s low price are likely to stem from his superb 2020/21 campaign for the Whites, when he netted 17 Premier League goals as Leeds secured a ninth-place finish. The 28-year-old, though, spent much of last season on the sidelines as he managed just nine appearances.

He was still able to net two goals in that period, both of which in the end proved crucial to Leeds remaining in the top-flight. His first of the season was a late equaliser at eventually relegated Burnley, with his second coming even later in stoppage time to earn a point against Brentford in December.
Bamford will undoubtedly have to prove his fitness to ensure he can reach the levels of two-years ago again, though even in his brief comeback in March his importance was evident. He is also likely to face more competition than ever before this season, with Joe Gelhardt now very much an option and another striker likely to come through the door.
