Patra Chawl case: Got rape threat, alleges witness

MUMBAI: A witness who is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate in the Patra Chawl case has filed a written complaint application at the Vakola police station alleging she has got threats to withdraw the statement that she has given against Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut.

In her complaint, the woman has alleged she was threatened with rape and threat to life if she did not take her statement back.

The ED had provisionally attached properties worth approximately Rs 11.15 crore in April in the case. The attached assets were in the form of lands held by Pravin M Raut, former director of Guru Ashish Construction Pvt Ltd, Mumbai, at Palghar, Saphale, Padga, a flat in Dadar of Varsha Raut, wife of Sanjay Raut, and plots at Kihim beach in Alibaug jointly held by Varsha and Swapna Patkar, wife of Sujit Patkar.

DCP (Zone VIII) DS Swamy said they are verifying the written complaint that the Vakola police have received.
