PATNA: A 22-year-old youth died after he was thrashed by a mob while he was allegedly trying to steal a bike at Pali village under Bihta police station in Patna on Monday. The deceased was identified as Rahul Kumar alias Mukhiya, a resident of Dariyapur, reports Faryal Rumi.
The incident took place around 3am when three thieves entered the house of panchayat samiti member, Rinki Devi, to steal the bike. "Some villagers raised an alarm when they saw the youths. Two youths escaped while Rahul was caught by the villagers who thrashed and handed him over to police. He was first admitted to the local government hospital from where the doctors referred him victim to PMCH. However, he succumbed to injuries while being taken to Patna," said Ranjit Kumar, SHO of Bihta police station.
