Patna, Arwal and Jehanabad are among the districts expected to experience changing weather conditions, with gusty winds and rain likely to bring temporary relief from the prevailing heat. Bhagalpur is also expected to see moderate rainfall from today till June 15, the IMD said.

Patna weather forecast June 12

The IMD has sounded a yellow alert for Patna for June 12. Very light to light rainfall is likely throughout the day for tomorrow. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph may occur during the morning, forenoon, afternoon, and evening.

Strong Winds and Lightning Likely

The IMD has warned that wind speeds may reach 50-60 kmph in some areas during thunderstorm activity. Such conditions can lead to falling tree branches, disruption to traffic and reduced visibility during heavy rain spells.

Lightning activity is also expected in several districts, prompting authorities to urge residents to avoid open fields, tall trees and exposed locations during storms.

Rain Expected Across 33 Districts

Weather officials have forecast rain and thunderstorm activity across a large part of Bihar. Reports indicate that alerts have been issued for 33 districts, with many areas expected to receive light to moderate rainfall over the next 24 to 48 hours.

The rainfall is expected to improve weather conditions and provide relief from the humid and hot atmosphere that has persisted in several districts in recent days.

Temperature Likely to Drop

One positive outcome of the approaching weather system could be a fall in temperatures.

Meteorological experts expect maximum temperatures to decline by 2°C to 4°C in many parts of Bihar as cloud cover, rainfall and strong winds become more widespread.

This could bring welcome relief for residents who have been dealing with uncomfortable heat and humidity.

Safety Tips During Thunderstorms

People in alert districts are advised to:

Stay indoors during thunderstorms.

Avoid standing under trees or near electric poles.

Unplug electronic devices if lightning activity increases.

Follow updates issued by local authorities and the IMD.

Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.

Bihar Weather Outlook

The latest forecast suggests that Bihar will continue to witness active pre-monsoon weather conditions, with thunderstorms, lightning and rain likely across several districts. For residents of Patna, Arwal, Jehanabad and surrounding areas, the next couple of days could bring cooler temperatures but also the risk of weather-related disruptions.
