PATNA: The city's first fully-automated parking facility, which became operational recently at Transport Nagar, is expected to reduce congestion on roads and discourage haphazard parking in the nearby areas, besides providing a safe and systematic parking space to people. It has the capacity to accommodate more than 100 vehicles at the peak time.
The parking lot has an automated ticket counter with boom barrier at entry and exit points, and RFID (radio-frequency identification) sensors to control the movement of vehicles. The facility is equipped with closed circuit television cameras for security reasons while the entire process is being operated by the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC).
