PATNA: A team of National Testing Agency (NTA), which is authorised to conduct online tests for various competitive examinations, visited the B D College, a constituent unit of Patliputra University (PPU), recently to assess its feasibility of making the college, a centre for holding online tests for various national and state level competitive examinations, including banking services, national eligibility test, railways and other institutions.
According to the college principal, Prof Pravin Kumar, the NTA found the infrastructure at the college satisfactory. "The college has installed a computer-based lab, having 100 computers at its Shatabdi Bhavan on its fourth floor to fulfill the requirements of the online tests. The lab is equipped with 24x7 power supply backup, internet and high quality server, to cater to the needs of conducting such sensitive online tests smoothly. The college has also well trained technicians and a software engineer to look after maintenance of the computer lab," he said.
Besides, the college has decided to build a classroom studio-cum-convention centre at its new building at a cost of Rs 20 lakh. The basic purpose behind this studio is to connect the college to other universities in and outside the country, for exchange of academic activities and series of online lectures, the principal said.
