Pat Spillane Junior has got the green light for his move to Sligo.
Spillane - son of eight-time Kerry All-Ireland winning legend, Pat - has begun training with Sligo’s Dublin-based players.
The GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee approved the move, which will see Spillane link up with his mother’s home county.
Spillane (23), who lives in Dublin and plays for the St Jude’s club in Templeogue, will hope to come into the reckoning for Sligo’s League opener against Wexford on Sunday week.
He impressed playing at midfield in St. Jude’s run to this year’s Dublin senior final, where they lost out narrowly to Kilmacud Crokes, who went on to win the Leinster Championship.
Tony McEntee’s Sligo are in Division 4.
