Pat Sharp breaks silence over 'appalling' joke as he's axed from Greatest Hits radio show

Pat Sharp has apologised for his inappropriate remark about a woman's breasts after he was axed from his radio show.

Greatest Hits Radio, where the star had hosted a show since 2019, recently confirmed the entertainer won't be returning to the airwaves on their station, as the woman at the butt of Sharp's joke considers 'taking action' against the star.

It was reported that he was at the Conference News Agency Awards at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Central London when he made a remark about company boss Lizzy Eaton's chest in front of around 400 people.

The radio star has since apologised and said: "Last Friday, I made a joke on stage which was not well received. I upset one individual in particular and for that I am truly sorry.

"I apologised at the event to anyone who was offended and I have apologised to the individual personally too."

Lizzy was shown a t-shirt with Pat's face as well as his infamous mullet from back in the day.

He jokingly told her: "That’s the only way I’ll get on your t**s today."

According to The Sun, she launched the shirt back at him and immediately left the event in tears.

Lizzy later shared: "Yesterday I was publicly humiliated, in a sexual nature, by the celebrity host of an industry event, on stage in front of 400 of my colleagues and peers.

"Afterwards I was in complete shock and hadn’t really processed what happened. Today I am struggling with it — I feel sad, dirty and, frankly, violated.

“I have worked incredibly hard to earn my reputation and hopefully be an inspiration to other young women in the events industry.

“Yesterday however, I was belittled, sexualised and objectified in front of hundreds of people I respect.”

She said she is also considering taking action against the star.

A spokesperson for Bauer Media later revealed that a "decision had already been made not to renew Pat’s contract which comes to an end later this month."

They added: "However with this issue now having been brought to our attention, we have agreed with Pat that he will not return to the station with immediate effect.”
