Passport validity: Bengalurean detained in Kuala Lumpur

BENGALURU: A Bengaluru couple's holiday turned a nightmare after the man was detained by authorities at Kuala Lumpur airport when it was found that his passport had under two months' validity.

The issue had gone unnoticed at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport. Anil Kumar, 34, and his wife Ranjitha, 28, took a flight back to Bengaluru on Sunday night after TOI reached out to the office of Indian High Commissioner in Malaysia and shared details of the passengers, reports Petlee Peter. The couple had been planning a trip to Bali for a long time and was unaware that a passport needs six months' validity for overseas travel.
