A woman was injured when a disturbance broke out as she walked along a city street
Police say the passer-by suffered a minor leg injury in the incident, which happened on Newcastle's Blackett Street, last night.
It was reported that two men had become involved in an altercation, close to Old Eldon Square.

The woman was not involved in the disturbance, at around 6pm.
On Monday night a number of police officers could be seen on Old Eldon Square where an ambulance and marked police van were parked.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: “Shortly before 6.10pm yesterday police on patrol received a report of a disturbance near Old Eldon Square on Blackett Street in Newcastle city centre.
“It was reported that two people had been involved in an altercation and a woman, who was not believed to be directly involved, ended up receiving a minor injury to her leg.
“Enquiries are ongoing."
