Terrified passengers "screamed and prayed" while their pilot attempted a treacherous landing at a UK airport during Storm Eunice.

The pilot tried to touch down at Manchester Airport twice amid high winds and torrential rain on Friday - but he was forced to ascend and divert the plane to Glasgow.

One passenger on-board the flight from Morocco praised the pilot's skill as he recalled being "petrified" during the landing, Manchester Evening News reports.
