A passenger has been killed and a driver in hospital with serious injuries after a two vehicle crash in Cwmbran. Three more people, including a young woman and two boys aged three and five were also taken to hospital with injuries.
Gwent Police confirmed they are investigating after they were called to a crash on Greenforge Way, Cwmbran, at around 4.10pm on Thursday, March 30. Officers attended, along with the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Wales Air Ambulance and Welsh Ambulance Service, to the crash involving a silver Ford Focus and a black Skoda Octavia.
The passenger of the Skoda, a 30-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene by a doctor. Police say his next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. The driver of the Skoda, a 23-year-old man, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol and is in a critical condition.
Three people travelling in the Ford Focus, a 23-year-old woman and two boys aged five and three, have all attended hospital and their injuries are not thought to be serious.
Officers investigating the collision want to speak to any motorists who were travelling in Greenforge Way between 4pm and 4.30pm on Thursday March 30, and are anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them on 101 or social media quoting log reference 2300102098.
